Description

Wheeler Space Saver Gunsmithing Screwdriver Set

The Wheeler Space Saver Gunsmithing Screwdriver Set takes up very little bench space while providing a sturdy and comprehensive set of 34 bits designed to meet the majority of your gunsmithing needs. A 2-inch long extension is included with the normal, Phillips, hex, and torx bits, as well as a hex-to-square conversion bit that allows you to use 1/4" square drive sockets and other accessories. The hollow-handled magnetic handle is appropriately sized for gunsmithing needs and allows you to carry a variety of bits if the need arises.

Features:
Only 8-1/2" x 2-3/4" size

Notes:
➼ Driver handle features compartment to hold extra bits
➼ Contains 6 slot bits, 8 Torx bits, 16 allen-head bits, and 4 Phillips head bits.
➼ Packaged in a plastic box
➼ Contents made in China and assembled in the US

Note on bits:
The bits in these sets are designed to break before damaging the fastener itself. Breakage of a bit should not be considered a defect, rather it means that the fastener will require some other means of removal or an application of a suitable compound that will penetrate threads, such as Kano Kroil.

FAQs

1. Is this a full professional gunsmithing kit?

No — it’s a compact “space saver” kit.
For full workshop use, larger kits (43-piece, 89-piece) offer more coverage.

2. Will it fit all firearm screws?

  • Covers most common screws
  • May not fit:
    • Rare or antique firearms
    • Highly specialised fasteners

3. Are the bits durable?

  • Designed to protect screws — some sets note bits may fail before damaging fasteners, which is intentional

4. Can it replace a full toolkit?

  • ✔️ Yes for field/range use
  • ❌ No for advanced gunsmithing or full disassembly

5. Why use gunsmith screwdrivers instead of regular ones?

  • Properly fitted bits:
    • Prevent stripped screws
    • Protect firearm finishes
