Description

Sierra 6.5mm 100gr Hollow Point #1710

The #1710 is a fantastic choice for the 264 Winchester Magnum since it works well with all 6.5 cartridges and is quite successful on varmints of all sizes. Even with the 264 magnum cartridges, quarter-minute accuracy of angle is not uncommon. It is equally accurate in cartridges with smaller case capacities.

Both bullets are fantastic options for TCU size cartridges for target or varmint applications in pistols. You can use the 100 grain #1710 for small to medium-sized game. The 100 grain #1710 can be used for up to medium-sized game. Shooters will enjoy these bullets’ excellent accuracy

FAQs

❓ Is this bullet for hunting or target shooting?

Primarily varmint hunting and light-load target shooting, not intended for large game.

❓ Does the hollow point mean it expands like a hunting bullet?

Not necessarily—this HP design is mainly for accuracy and manufacturing consistency, though it can fragment on small game.

❓ How does it compare to heavier 6.5mm bullets?

  • 100gr (#1710): Faster, flatter, lower recoil
  • 120–140gr bullets: Better penetration, higher BC, suited for medium/large game

❓ Is it suitable for 6.5 Creedmoor?

Yes, but typically used for light, high-speed loads rather than standard hunting loads.

❓ What twist rate is required?

Most common 1:8 to 1:9 twist barrels stabilize this bullet easily.
