Description

Lee Factory Crimp Die 204 Ruger 90567

Lee 204 Ruger Factory Crimp Die crimps the bullet in place more firmly than any other tool. Tests demonstrate that even bullets which have no crimp groove will shoot more accurately. A firm crimp improves accuracy because pressure must build to a higher level before the bullet begins to move. This higher start pressure insures a more uniform pressure curve and less velocity variation.

Best Suited For

  • Reloaders using:
    • .204 Ruger rifles
  • Applications such as:
    • Varmint hunting (high-velocity loads)
    • Precision reloading / load development
  • Shooters who want:
    • Improved bullet retention
    • More consistent velocities
    • Reliable feeding in magazine-fed rifles

When To Use It

Primary Stage:

👉 Final step after bullet seating

Ideal Use Cases:

  • When:
    • Using magazine-fed rifles (prevents bullet movement)
    • Seeking maximum consistency in loads
    • Bullets do not contact rifling due to magazine limits
  • Especially helpful when:
    • Cases vary slightly in length
    • Bullets lack a cannelure (crimp groove)

👉 The die can form a crimp even without a groove, thanks to its collet design.

Why It Matters

  • A firm crimp:
    • Increases start pressure
    • Creates a more uniform pressure curve
    • Reduces velocity variation

➡️ Result: Potentially improved accuracy and consistency
