Description

Hornady OAL Modified Case 222 Rem A222

These cases are specially modified to work with Lock-N-Load Precision gauges. A special fine thread is used to attach them to the gauges, ensuring that they remain perfectly square for precise alignment in the chamber of your firearm. Second, the neck of the case is made perfectly round and opened slightly to allow a standard-diameter bullet to slip into the case mouth effortlessly, but concentrically, to ensure the most precise results possible.

FAQs

Q: Can this modified case be reloaded and fired?
No. It is not designed for firing—strictly for measurement purposes.

Q: Will it work in all .222 Rem chambers?
It fits standard chambers, but slight variations in rifles may influence readings.

Q: Do I still need calipers?
Yes. The OAL gauge and modified case help determine length, but calipers are needed to measure it accurately.

Q: Why use Hornady’s modified case instead of a fired case?
Factory-made cases provide consistent dimensions and proper threading, improving accuracy and repeatability.
