Bore Tech Proof Positive 22cal Centerfire Jag
Bore Tech's unique Proof Positive jags reduce the annoyance of traditional brass jags indicating copper fouling in your bore. Save your rifle from nickel plated and stainless steel jags, which are extremely hard and can damage the barrel. Get rid of the bending and snapping plastic jags that are cheap, flimsy, and inconvenient. When no copper is present in the bore, traditional brass jags contain approximately 60% copper in their composition, resulting in the blue copper fouling hue on your patch. By removing brass, it is possible to identify when a rifle bore is completely copper free, as well as save money on patches, chemicals, and cleaning time.
The Proof Positive jag line is made of a special alloy that is as supple as brass but has a high tensile strength to resist bending and cracking when a tight patch is applied. These jags have been designed to give excellent cleaning and functionality. Each jag is carefully crafted to exacting tolerances to ensure faultless operation and true, concentric pressure on the barrel surface.

Features:
The centerfire version is optimised for patch piercing (spiking) rather than wrapping, ensuring a tight, consistent fit through higher-pressure centerfire barrels.

It is especially valuable when using strong copper solvents, as it prevents false “blue patch” readings caused by brass jags.

Performance Characteristics:
What’s the difference between .22 rimfire and .22 centerfire jags?
The rimfire jag uses knurling for patch wrapping, while the centerfire jag uses ringed tips designed for piercing patches.
Is it safe for my barrel?
Yes. The alloy is engineered to be as soft as brass but stronger, making it fully barrel safe.
Why does my patch feel tight?
A tight fit is normal and ensures proper cleaning. Use the correct patch size to avoid jamming.
Can I pull the jag back through the bore?
Yes. The reverse taper and smooth transition reduce risk to the crown when used correctly.
Does it work with all cleaning rods?
It fits standard 8/32 threaded rods, which are the most common type.
