Description

Bore Tech 25cal/6.5mm Proof Positive Jag

When employing copper removal cleansers, Bore Tech's unique Proof-Positive Rifle Patch Jags prevent the unpleasant false signal of copper fouling that is common with all regular brass jags. Proof-Positive Rifle Patch Jags are carefully manufactured to exact tolerances to ensure that they function properly and apply correct, concentric pressure to the barrel surface. The length of each jag is determined based on the caliber and patch size required for cleaning. This keeps patches from bunching up and jamming on the cleaning rod's tip.

Bore Tech 25cal/6.5mm Proof Positive Jag.

Best Suited For

  • Cleaning .25 caliber and 6.5mm rifle barrels (e.g., 6.5 Creedmoor, .260 Rem)
  • Shooters using copper-removing solvents
  • Precision rifle owners needing accurate fouling detection
  • Anyone wanting high-quality, barrel-safe cleaning tools

When To Use It

  • During patch-based bore cleaning after applying solvent
  • When checking if your barrel is truly copper-free
  • After using aggressive copper removers
  • As part of a routine cleaning cycle (wet patches → brush → dry patches)

💡 Especially useful when standard brass jags give false blue patches

FAQs

1. Why not use a standard brass jag?

Brass contains copper, so copper solvents can react with it and give false “dirty” readings on patches.

2. Is it safe for my barrel?

✔️ Yes—it's 100% barrel safe, designed to avoid crown or rifling damage.

3. What makes it better than cheaper jags?

✔️ More accurate cleaning feedback
✔️ Better patch retention
✔️ Stronger and longer-lasting material

4. What patches should I use?

Use correct-size patches for 6.5mm/.25 cal to avoid tight or jammed fit.

5. Can I pull it back through the bore?

✔️ Yes—its smooth design prevents damage when used properly.
