The Hornady SST is built to impart a significant amount of shock on impact while expanding fast and consistently, especially at higher velocities.
It's the perfect bullet for whitetails, as well as most North American game animals from antelope to moose and comparable-sized African plains wildlife, as it shoots flat and is deadly accurate. An enormously destructive wound channel is produced by the SST.

Upon impact, the hard polymer tip drives into the lead core like a wedge, initiating lightning-fast, yet controlled expansion.
