The Hornady GMX bullet is a hard-hitting, deep-penetrating bullet that blends monolithic construction with groundbreaking ballistic design to answer the demand for a premium, non-traditional bullet. The GMX bullet's mono-metal design is made of a copper alloy. The copper/zinc alloy, which is harder than solid copper, has been shown to shoot cleaner, foul less, and give stable, even pressure curves.
The strong alloy material keeps 95% or more of its original weight and can expand up to 1.5 times its original diameter. The bullet's overall bearing surface and drag are reduced, and it achieves some of the greatest ballistic coefficients from monolithic, non-traditional rounds, thanks to its long, streamlined profile with cannelures. The hard polymer tip of the bullet crashes into the hollow cavity at the front of the bullet upon impact, causing it to expand and create a mushroom-style projectile as it passes through the animal. Fully California-compliant and suitable for use in other situations that need the use of non-traditional rounds.
