The 52 grain #1410 bullet for rifles has all of the advantages of a boat tail configuration for competition at 200 to 300 yards. The 52 grain #1410 MatchKing® bullets are generally superior in target competition in pistols chambering 22 caliber cartridges.
MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications, despite their worldwide reputation for record-breaking accuracy. Despite the fact that MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are often employed for varmint hunting, their design does not give the same consistent explosive expansion in varmints as their thinly jacketed Hornet, Blitz, or Varminter counterparts at equal velocities.
