This is a 2.4-inch long .45-70 based case that may be used with smokeless or black powder loads. Due to the reduced pressures created by black powder loads, annealing of the mouth may be required to allow the case to effectively seal the chamber.
Our cases are made extremely strong to withstand the high-pressure loads associated with smokeless hunting loads, and because the only way to make brass harder is to work it, we have no choice but to leave them stiffer so that customers can anneal them for specific applications.
