FAQs

Q: What is the difference between Berdan and Boxer primers?
A: Berdan primers have two flash holes and a built-in anvil, while Boxer primers have a single flash hole and separate anvil in the primer, making Boxer cases easier to reload.

Q: Is this tool necessary?
A: Yes—standard decapping pins used in dies will not work on Berdan cases and may break if attempted.

Q: Is Berdan reloading common?
A: It’s less common than Boxer reloading, but useful when working with military surplus or hard-to-find brass.

Q: Is it difficult to use?
A: It requires some practice and proper setup, so it’s generally recommended for experienced reloaders.
