Description

Hornady OAL Modified Case 8X57 Mauser A8X57

These enclosures have been customized specifically for use with Lock-N-Load Precision gauges. Attaching them to the gauges with a particularly fine thread ensures that they remain absolutely square for exact alignment in the chamber of your rifle. Second, the case's neck is completely spherical and slightly opened to allow a standard-diameter bullet to easily and concentrically glide into the case mouth, ensuring the most precise results conceivable.

FAQs

Q: Can this modified case be fired?
No. It is strictly a measuring tool and must never be used as live ammunition.

Q: Will it fit all 8x57 rifles?
Yes for standard chambers, but older rifles (e.g., early .318 bore variants) may differ slightly—always verify your chamber type.

Q: What tools are required to use it?

  • Hornady OAL Gauge
  • Calipers (preferably with bullet comparator)

Q: Why use a factory Hornady modified case?
Factory cases provide better alignment, consistent neck tension, and more reliable readings compared to DIY modified brass.
