For measuring loaded rounds, measuring cartridge lengths across the bullet tips is not a reliable (or repeatable) procedure. Variations of up to.025" are normal between rounds, thus our Bullet Comparator measures rounds from the ogive to offer consistent, exact measurements, and you can also use it to examine bullet uniformity from base to ogive.
This Bullet Comparator fits to the blade of your caliper and measures from the bullet ogive using replaceable inserts (available in sizes ranging from .17 caliber to .45 caliber).
The Bullet Comparator, when used in conjunction with the O.A.L. Gauge, gives the ultimate in precision measurement. The Bullet Comparator will position the O.A.L. Gauge appropriately for precise caliper measurement. This method allows you to compare your loads while setting up your bullet seating die for any chosen bullet free-travel distance (jump).
