Hornady's neck sizing bottleneck cartridge dies increase case life and uniformity between rounds by working as little brass as possible, resulting in fire-formed brass that fits your rifle flawlessly for a truly tailored cartridge. Only the neck dimensions of the brass are resized using neck sizing dies in order to seat and hold bullets properly. By leaving the brass fireformed to fit just the rifle from which it came, neck sizing improves uniformity, improves head spacing, and extends brass life. Neck sized cartridges should only be shot in the same manually controlled firearm (usually bolt action rifles) that manufactured them, and not in semiautomatic firearms, as they require full length resizing to function.
