A popular design with an American-style varnished stock and a thick-walled 525 mm barrel, making it suited for medium to long-range recreational shooting and hunting.
Laser cut dots give a grip back and forth. The only choice that was missing from the pre- rimfire platform was American-style push-to-fire security. Hunters Education instructors and 4H shooting coaches have left it to us for many years. This was the most obvious change, but we also had the opportunity to tweak a lot of small things at the same time. In addition to push-to-fire security mounted on the receiver, we cut out about an inch long from the action and mounted a panel to reduce footprint and weight.
In addition, the 457 has triggers that allow you to adjust weight, creep and overstroke. With exactly the same replaceable barrel system as the 455 and the same reliable polymer magazine system, the 457 is arguably the best rimfire platform ever used.
