4 The Highland AX 6.5x55 is a bang for buck hunting round that expands well and shoots straight. We put the AX 6.5 over a Chrony and was it averages around 2450 fps. This puts it close to the recommended 2500 fps needed for positive full expansion of the bullet when hunting medium to large NZ game. Bullet drop is sharper compared to other factory 6.5 rounds due to the slower speed and hunting style bullet used in the AX series. This 'Hunting' round will take down any game curently in NewZealand [Except for the very rare NZ Moa]. Price for a pcket of AX will please those on a budget. Note* Reloaders may find the brass has a limited reloading life. Note* We do not recommend this round for target shooters looking for cheaper precision factory loads.
