Tipton Deluxe Carbon Fiber Cleaning Rod 40" 20 Cal
Carbon fiber is ideal for the demanding tasks assigned to cleaning rods. It combines the best qualities of stainless steel and coated cleaning rods, then adds value of its own. If handled irresponsibly, stainless steel rods can scratch or wear barrels, but they will not pick up potentially dangerous small abrasive particles. "Coated" rods do part of the job by preventing the stainless steel shaft from harming the rifling in your barrel, but the coating will take up minute abrasive particles, like passing fine-grit sandpaper through your bore.
Carbon fiber rods are the best of both: the carbon fiber can’t scratch your bore like stainless steel, and they won’t embed like coated rods. Plus, Carbon Fiber rods can be bent to an extreme degree and return to their original straightness.
