Cases are subjected to annealing throughout production to achieve the proper hardness that secures the bullet in place while also allowing for firing flexibility. As a result, the cases can have a faint discoloration close to the neck. Additionally, sometimes during production or shipping, the cases' mouths may be damaged. The mouth needs to be resized, chamfered, and deburred for reloading. If desired, a ball expander can be inserted into the neck in alignment with the sizing die.
