The Ruger MK4 has a simple, one-button takedown for quick field stripping and proper chamber to muzzle cleaning. The upper receiver may be tilted up and off of the grip framework without using tools thanks to a recessed button on the back of the frame. Precision CNC-machined one-piece grip frame with Ergonomic bolt stop A smooth, ergonomic grip with a natural pointing grip angle and changeable, checkered grip panels for a non-slip hold is also included. Internal cylindrical bolt structure also assures permanent sight to barrel synchronization and greater accuracy possibilities than traditional sliding slide designs.

Its contoured ejection port and straightforward bolt ears ensure long-lasting and dependable operation round after round. Accurate sighting system with adjustable rear sight and drilled and tapped receiver for Weaver- or Picatinny-style rail for optics mounting. When applied, the ambidextrous manual safety positively locks the sear in the "SAFE" position. With the included washer, the safety can be converted to only work on the left side. On the left side of the frame, there is a convenient push-button magazine release. When the magazine is released, it falls free for faster reloading, and a disconnect prevents discharge when the magazine is removed.
