The Armsan RS-S1 shotgun is a semi-automatic, gas-operated weapon. It has a 3” (76mm) chamber and a short stroke piston. It can be equipped with barrels of various lengths. A rotating bolt engages the front trunnion in the receiver to lock the barrel. Its bolt and gas piston assembly are based on the Russian Vepr-12 shotgun. The receiver is composed of stamped steel, with a front-hinged top cover and an integrated Picatinny rail. It has AK-style adjustable iron sights as well as an AK-style safety.
