Lyman 223 Headspace Gauge
Lyman recommended that all bottleneck rifle cases be inspected after resizing to ensure that the proper headspace dimension is maintained in order to achieve the best level of safety and accuracy. A Lyman case length/headspace gauge is the best technique to examine this essential dimension. Simply inserting the case into the gauge to ensure that it does not exceed the maximum or fall below the minimum permitted headspace is all that the reloader has to do. Furthermore, the gauge will detect a case that exceeds the maximum permissible case length. Caution: Any case discovered to have too much headspace should be destroyed right away.
