The long stock CZ 457 Royal is made of high-quality walnuts with decorative details at the ends. An oil finish enhances the beautiful texture. The stock design is based on the look of the traditional Commonwealth stock, featuring a straight comb, round ballpiece, a thin fore end and a safari-style belt loop. Thin-walled hunting barrel without sight, 525 mm long.
The CZ 457 is a new example of a modern rimfire rifle. When it comes to rimfire rifles, Ceská Zbrojovka has traditionally been one of the world leaders in the production of these firearms. Following the successor of the famous CZ 452 series and its successor, the CZ 455, the next-generation CZ rimfire rifle will raise the bar for the CZ 457 family genre. The new CZ 457 family features a sophisticated modular design. Whether we're talking about the user safety, accuracy or durability of the compared to the existing s and the competition, it offers significant improvements in all major dimensions.
More or less the concept of many new CZ Rimfire rifles goes back to the original reason why the gun in this category was first created and why it was so popular for so long. The Rimfire Rifle is frequently requested by hunting rifle owners, especially for practice, entertainment or teaching the basics of shooting and hunting to the younger generation. In that respect, the design of the new CZ 457 family is noteworthy. Partial integration of the design and some details with the successful CZ 557 rifle series was a huge step forward. The was a big step forward, especially when it comes to a fully adjustable trigger with great performance. It is also worth highlighting that this series maintained the successful CZ 455 magazine and barrel system. In other words, means that the owner of this weapon can make an easy and inexpensive generational modification.
The advantages of the CZ 457 can be divided into three main areas:
Safety first
The safety is released by moving the lever forward, exposing a red dot on the side of the receiver that indicates that the rifle is ready to fire. A new element in CZ rimfire rifles is the striker status indicator, which visually and by touch shows the status of the striker mechanism: when the striker is cocked, a small red indicator protrudes from the rear of the bolt.
Improved accuracy
In general, CZ rimfire rifles are highly accurate, however, the truth is that the design legacy of the CZ 452 ZKM limited the options to modify the trigger mechanism parameters. As a result, the company has introduced a new trigger mechanism for the CZ 457 family. In comparison with previous models, the weight of CZ 457 rimfire rifle strikers has been reduced by more than 60%, resulting also in a faster strike and at the same time less shock when fired. Where stocks are concerned, there has been a great improvement in all long guns from CZ, which has also been reflected in the new rimfire rifles.
Improved user properties
In the past few years, CZ has considerably advanced its technologies, such as procedures for the surface treatment of metal parts. The company`s new products, including the new CZ 457 series, are thus treated with one the most durable anti-corrosion surface treatments on the market. As has already been mentioned, the important benefits of the previous CZ rimfire rifle generation have been retained: the modular system allowing an easy replacement of barrels and changing of calibres, and compatibility of the barrels and magazines with the CZ 455 series.
