Lucky Thirteen offers a detachable magazine modification kit for the Howa 1500.

The ambidextrous magazine release in the paddle design allows for easy magazine release without having to relinquish the trigger hand. A snag free design allowing easy mag changes without the risk of accidental releases which can happen on some designs with forward magazine releases.

The unit was designed specifically for pillar bedded stocks and has been extensively tested with synthetic and composite stocks including Howa solid timber, Hogue polymer and Boyd laminated stocks. Pillar bedding is advised when putting into a timber stock, and aluminum pillars are provided in the box. Pillar bedding allows correct torque levels to be used without risk of compression, which will keep the extra weight of a larger magazine firmly
