Lee Deluxe APP Press #90933

The Lee Automatic Processing Press App is the quickest and easiest way to size cast bullets and prepare cases. It also functions as a single-station reloading press.

Late last year, I acquired the patent for this innovative press. It's the first press of its kind to allow the die to be mounted on the top or bottom of the machine. This versatility in die mounting enables previously unthinkable automation on a single station press. You can now deprime, primer pocket swage, bulge bust, or size cast bullets as quickly as the lever allows.

Despite its small size, the press is quite heavy. It's made of a selection of materials that are best suited for the job. The steel levers or handles are topped with a molded grip known as the power grip. We went through a number of variations to arrive at a design that was quite comfortable. Because the grip is totally symmetrical, it can be used with either hand. Aluminum is used for the upper and lower die carriers, whereas nylon or acetal copolymer is used for the low stress items. Two centerless ground and roller burnished columns support the upper carrier. A centrally positioned coil spring counterbalances the upper die carrier. The counterweight keeps the handle from falling and pinching a finger.

The App is a “frameless” design with nearly all the forces going directly to the dies through the steel linkages rather than through the frame. As a single stage reloading press, it has almost unlimited visibility and hand clearance. Mounting is easy on any bench or table with no under swing.
