You wouldn't think a simple lock ring could be improved upon, but we have. All other lock rings are obsolete and inconvenient to use thanks to the new split clamp spline drive. We started with a high-strength aluminum extrusion with a splined outside surface. We split the ring and added a cross bolt that gives your dies a vice-like grip when softly tightened. There are no tiny set screws to shred or harm your die threads. Then we added the famous Lee "O" ring because without the friction of the "O" ring, no matter how securely the lock ring is attached to the die, it will loosen in the press during operation. The "O" ring allows you to finger tighten your press into place, ensuring that it will never loosen during operation while still allowing you to readily remove your die with finger pressure. A slim profile lock ring wrench is also supplied, which comes in handy when mounting dies on a turret or tool head. The lock ring wrench makes it much easier to insert dies.
