Lyman's Brass-Smith Ideal Press is an excellent choice for beginning reloaders or as a precision companion press for experienced reloaders. The Ideal Press's tiny design demands little bench space, yet it is not a flimsy lightweight. The tough press frame is made of cast iron, while the other components are all composed of steel. The press has compound linkage for maximum leverage, a 1" diameter ram, and a 3 7/8" press opening that can take all handgun and rifle cartridges with loaded lengths up to 3.700". 

The press incorporates a ball handle for comfort and a central handle position for convenient ambidextrous use. All 7/8x14 thread dies and normal shell holders are compatible with the Ideal Press. The press will provide accuracy and precision for both novices and experts, and it is the ideal auxiliary press for people who want to conduct a specific operation in addition to their primary press.
