Lyman 308 Headspace Gauge
Lyman advises that all bottleneck rifle cases be inspected after resizing to ensure that the proper headspace dimension is maintained for the maximum level of safety and accuracy. A Lyman case length/headspace gauge is the best technique to examine this essential dimension. The reloader simply places the case in the gauge to ensure that it does not exceed or fall below the maximum or minimum permitted headspace. A case that exceeds the maximum permitted case length will also be detected by the gauge. Caution: Any case discovered to have an excessive amount of headspace should be destroyed right away.
